Bringing the Outdoors In

Now that summer is almost over and the nights are getting cool, I'm thinking about bringing in some of the outdoor plants. This year I'll replant them. I particularly like these beautiful pots.

The Modern Square and Lattice planters (pictured below) were made with Lahar (volcanic ash) from Mount Pinatubo located on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. After 460 years of inactivity Mount Pinatubo erupted in June 1991, and for months after continued to cast out lots of Lahar into the air. Despite the tradgedy the native people were able to use the Lahar as an innovative medium that is strong, lightweight and extremely durable.
